Who is ISRHRA?
Initiative for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Awareness (ISRHRA) formally known as
Freedom Africa Initiative (FAI) is a group of young African feminists who came together in
2015 to form a formidable force in order to tackle inequality in all spheres of life.
Our Area of Focus
Advocacy
Working strategically to promote and secure the rights of lesbians, bisexuals, trans and queer women; representing, defending and advocating for the respect, recognition and protection of the human rights of LBTQ women and inclusion in legislative instruments and other policies of government as equal members of the Nigeria society.
Evidence Based Research
The insufficient and lack of accurate knowledge on the lives and experiences of lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer women in Nigeria has resulted to various myths, fallacies and misrepresentation of homosexuality.
HIV and Sexual Health
We recognize that one of the challenges faced by sexual minority women in Nigeria is the access to and availability of information, services and commodities that promotes safer sex and mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS amongst sexual minority women, especially bisexuals and trans women.
Leadership Development
Leadership development is aimed at providing a platform and opportunity for LBTQ women in Nigeria to share and exchange ideas, information and skills for the advancement of the community and its rights.
Safe Home and Better Future
Initiative for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Awareness provides safe housing, social inclusion activities and moving on support to LBTQ women in Nigeria.
